Review: Bad Girls Don't Die

Bad Girls Don't Die

By: Katie Alender

My Grade: A

Pages: 346

Alexis thought she led a typically dysfunctional high school existence. Dysfunctional like her parents’ marriage; her doll-crazy thirteen-year-old sister, Kasey; and even her own anti-social, anti-cheerleader attitude.

When a family fight results in some tearful sisterly bonding, Alexis realizes that her life is creeping from dysfunction into danger. Kasey is acting stranger than ever: her blue eyes go green sometimes; she uses old-fashioned language; and she even loses track of chunks of time, claiming to know nothing about her strange behavior. Their old house is changing, too. Doors open and close by themselves; water boils on the unlit stove; and an unplugged air conditioner turns the house cold enough to see their breath in.

Alexis wants to think that it’s all in her head, but soon, what she liked to think of as silly parlor tricks are becoming life-threatening–to her, her family, and to her budding relationship with the student council VP. Alexis knows she’s the only person who can stop Kasey — but what if that green-eyed girl isn’t even Kasey anymore?

My Opinion:

This book was an easy read. Its full of suspense and keeps you reading until the end. It's almost creepy at some points but it's the kind of creepy that keeps your attention. If you believe in the whole paronormal thing this really is a book for you. The storyline was awesome, there was some romance to the book and the ending was almost expected but still good.

Review: TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY

TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY

By: Jay Asher

My Grade:A+

Pages: 288

The inside reads:
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker-his classmate and crush-who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
Hannah's voice explains that there are thirteen reasons she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why.
Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a first-hand witness to Hannah's pain, and learns the truth about himself-a truth he never wanted to face.

My opinion:
It sounds pretty intense huh? I enjoyed this book very much. I got addicted to it right away. It's one of those types of books that is so suspenseful that you have to find out what happens at the end. Some people say it gets a little confusing because of the way it's written but it's not too hard to figure out. I would recommend this book to someone who likes intense or suspense not scary. Jay Asher is a fantastic writer and I hope he comes out with some more books.

A dedication to the love of books!

This blog is going to be all about books. Reviews, suggestions, wanted books and all of the above! I hope you enjoy it. If you don't understand the title I suggest you read Stephen King's "Duma Key." It's an awesome book. I'm not quite finished yet but I'm halfway through and already in love with it. I fell in love with most of the characters the second I learned about them and it's full of suspense. If you haven't read any Stephen King yet your missing out. He is an amazing writer. I suggest you read Duma Key, Pet Sematary, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon or IT. I haven't read IT yet but I've been told it's an awesome but eerie book. Well, stay tuned for my first book review and everything else. Will you like it? Maybe si, maybe no. Haha, you'll understand that if you read Duma Key. Anyways, enjoy my upcoming blog post!
